About UsTravel - our passion in life - has taken us on crazy adventures, to places we never thought we would go. But being a full-time traveler always meant leaving a few things behind. You miss your friends and family from back home. The stability and comfort that comes with having a place to put your feet up at the end of the day. The chance to feel part of a community.
The advent of new technologies has changed that. With online connectivity virtually anywhere in the world, we can work from anywhere, talk from anywhere, be seen from anywhere wherever we are. And with ever cheaper travel we can get almost anywhere. All that's missing, a place to call home. With today's technology people around the world can connect to help each other. Families who need to travel can connect with travelers who want to come to their area and make sure their pets and homes are well cared for from the moment they leave the house until they return. |
Who We Are |
Blair, on the left. American. Adventurous. Lover of good books, long flights, indie movies, vegetarian food, and theatre. The bossy one, I like planning and lists. House sitting duties: remembering the details, cleaning, keeping track of the keys, pet photography. Pet count: 4 dogs, 5 fish, 4 hamsters, 3 gerbils, and 1 rabbit.
Nicolo, on the right. British. Well, half English and half Italian. Grew up in England with summers in Italy before crossing the Atlantic almost two decades ago to work in the United States. House sitting duties: finding the next sit, taking dogs for long walks, preparing food with local flavor, keeping in touch with hosts, feeding time. Pet Count: 1 dog, 1 cat, 1 pet rabbit, 2 gerbils, 3 birds and multiple fish over the years. |
Our Story |
We first met in 2010 and quickly discovered our mutual love of travel, initially in the United States and, by 2011, around the world. A New Year's trip to London, a family wedding in India, a business trip to Australia and New Zealand, a vacation in Mexico. And so the list goes on. But we had jobs that required us also to be in one place sometimes for weeks or months at a time.
All that changed in early 2016 when we signed up with TrustedHousesitters. Suddenly we were both able to work from anywhere, and a world of opportunities opened up. So started our foray into the world of international house sitting. And what a privilege and adventure it has been so far. Here on this site, we share our stories, our adventures, and our advice in the hope that you can sense some of the joys, and benefit from our experiences of house and pet sitting. |
